The EMC standards below are included within our current UKAS scope for accreditation, specifically for road and railway applications. It should be noted that aspects of BS EN 50121 parts 2, 3-1 and 5 require on site testing where the measurement environment does not have the same degree of control as lab testing. Cranage EMC and Safety are able to carry out this testing.
Below is a list of the main standards that apply to road and rail testing:
Rail
BS EN 50121-3-2 Rolling stock apparatus
BS EN 50121-4 Emissions and immunity of signalling and telecommunications apparatus
BS EN 50121-5 Emissions and immunity of fixed power supply installations and apparatus
Road
BS EN 12895 Industrial trucks
BS EN 50293 Road traffic signal systems
The following safety standards have been applied to specific road and rail projects for electrical and electronic equipment:
BS EN / IEC 60950-1 ITE. This standard, along with BS EN / IEC 60065 Audio-visual, was withdrawn in December 2020 and replaced with BS EN / IEC 62368 Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment
BS EN / IEC 61010-1 Measurement control and laboratory
BS EN / IEC 60335-1 Household tools and similar
