Operation

The Field Sensing System provides a feedback signal for accurate measurement of the E-field level within the Stripline. The signal fed back to the spectrum analyser is phase-locked to the tracking generator so that whatever frequency is set, the field level at that frequency is measured. A calibration table is produced using an isotropic field probe as reference, converting dBmV to V/m so that actual field strength within the stripline is known.

Plug-in matching transformer converts stripline impedance to characteristic impedance of amplifier (50 ohms).

Lower half of the Cranage Stripline is at ground potential - NOT FLOATING, therefore, the stripline does not have to be used on an insulating table.

SAFETY NOTE OBSERVE HUMAN BODY EXPOSURE LIMITS FOR NON-IONISING RADIO FREQUENCY RADIATION AND AVOID CONTACT WITH UPPER HALF OF STRIPLINE IN USE.
